Payment & Imaging Core Capabilities

Payment & Imaging Core Capabilities – An Overview

The transaction processing industry is in a state of change that shows no sign of ending. Paper remittance transactions are decreasing in some developed countries, while increasing in many developing countries, but we still need to process a lot of paper-based transactions. Full-page imaging is a proven cost-reducer, and is growing every day. Today, Cheque Clearing processes are changing as countries embrace and frame evolving guidelines for image based Cheque Truncation Systems (CTS). CTS is also spurring the move to automated image based Remittance or Receivables Collections Processing, which is gaining momentum. So too is the shift to remote capture which is seen as the ‘killer application’ with the need to capture payments electronically at the source destination becoming increasing important.

Facing this environment, how does a software provider ensure that applications are written efficiently, best practices are incorporated, and applications are made to work together now, and in the future? One way is to start with a solid architecture, and follow that by using as many common building blocks as possible.

One of the key building blocks in our ESPi framework is Payment & Imaging Core Capabilities. It's here that we enforce a common way to capture a transaction either centrally or remotely or in hub & spoke, perform form and field recognition, enforce workflow and decision rules, create images, and move them to desired destinations.

Core components capabilities:

  • Transaction Capture
  • Remote Image Capture
  • Form and Field Recognition
  • Business Workflow, Rules and Edits
  • Data Completion
  • Image and Data Exports
  • Hub and Spoke
  • Image Quality Assurance
  • Archive & NetQuery

We incorporate best-of-breed hardware from IBML, NCR, OPEX and Unisys and software from A2iA, Microsoft, Mitek and others, to optimize outcomes for each enterprise. These technology components are incorporated in our ESPi framework.
